Artwork Wednesday: Jurassic World, Okja + more!

Artwork Wednesday this week comes to you on a Friday, and I’m not even sorry. I’ve been away from Artwork Wednesday for a while, for reasons I will not go into now, but I’m so excited to be back that I’m not going to wait until Wednesday!

I’m sure I’ve definitely missed so many gorgeous posters, but I shall refrain from making an extra long post to save you from endless scrolling. Instead, I hope you’ll enjoy the following four posters that have caught my eye recently.  Continue reading

Trailer Tu-Thursday vol. 39: Tupac, A Street Cat Named Bob, Fantastic Beasts

YAY FOR OUR 100TH POST ON BVRN!

And this week it’s a Trailer Tu-Thursday! My favourites this week include a trailer for a film about a man and a stray cat, another about birds and a baby, and of course, a featurette about a wizard and some magical creatures. So many human-animal relationships going on here!

1. Central Intelligence
When it is released? 1st Jul 2016 (UK), 17th Jun 2016 (USA)
What is it about? After he reunites with an old school pal through Facebook, a mild-mannered accountant is lured into the world of international espionage.
Immediate thoughts? This is so clever! Showing some outtakes shows how great Johnson and Hart get along, and I’m so excited to see their on-screen relationship! It’s different for a trailer, and it works for this kind of film, nice!

2. Denial
When it is released? 3rd Feb 2017 (UK), 30th Sep 2016 (USA)
What is it about? Acclaimed writer and historian Deborah E. Lipstadt must battle for historical truth to prove the Holocaust actually occurred when David Irving, a renowned denier, sues her for libel.
Immediate thoughts? The complete opposite of Central Intelligence above, but this looks equally as captivating. Just in different ways, of course.

3. Storks
When it is released? 14th Oct 2016 (UK), 23rd Sep 2016 (USA)
What is it about? Storks have moved on from delivering babies to packages. But when an order for a baby appears, the best delivery stork must scramble to fix the error by delivering the baby.
Immediate thoughts? Babeh powda. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS TRAILER IT JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER AHHHHH! And I’m calm.

4. Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life
When it is released? 7th Oct 2016 (USA)
What is it about? A quiet teenage artist Rafe Katchadorian has a wild imagination and is sick of middle school and the rules that have been put before him. Rafe and his best friend Leo have come up with a plan: break every rule in the school hand book and as you expect trouble follows.
Immediate thoughts? This is not at all aimed towards me. But I love it.

5. The Lovers and the Despot
When it is released? 18th Jun 2016 (Edinburgh International Film Festival, UK), 23rd Sep 2016 (USA)
What is it about? After the collapse of their glamorous romance, a famous director and actress are kidnapped by movie-obsessed dictator Kim Jong-il. Forced to make films in the world’s weirdest state, they get a second chance at love, but only one chance at escape.
Immediate thoughts? This is absolutely crazy. I had no idea this even happened.

6. Swallows and Amazons
When it is released? 19th Aug 2016 (UK), 2016 (USA)
What is it about? Swallows and Amazons is based on the classic, best selling book by Arthur Ransome.
Immediate thoughts? I’ve heard my sister and my mum talk about this book, and now that I’ve seen a trailer for the film I’m quite interested to find out what happens.

7. All Eyez on Me
When it is released? 2016
What is it about? A chronicle of the life of rapper Tupac Shakur.
Immediate thoughts? I’d like to know the real story about Tupac.

8. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
When it is released? 30th Sep 2016 (UK and USA)
What is it about? When Jacob discovers clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers.
Immediate thoughts? A good evolution from the teaser, this still looks super cool and creepy.

9. A Street Cat Named Bob
When it is released? 4th Nov 2016 (UK)
What is it about? Based on the international best selling book. The true feel good story of how James Bowen, a busker and recovering drug addict, had his life transformed when he met a stray ginger cat.
Immediate thoughts? Kittyyyyyyy, why has this made me so emotional

10. The Girl with All the Gifts
When it is released? 23rd Sep 2016 (UK)
What is it about? A scientist and a teacher living in a dystopian future embark on a journey of survival with a special young girl named Melanie.
Immediate thoughts? It’s not often I am intrigued by a zombie kind of film.

11. Ouija: Origin of Evil
When it is released? 21st Oct 2016 (UK and USA)
What is it about? Sequel to the 2014 horror film ”Ouija”.
Immediate thoughts? This trailer is everything creepy. That mouth…

12. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
When it is released? 18th Nov 2016 (UK and USA)
What is it about? The adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.
Immediate thoughts? No words NO WORDS NO JUST HEAVY BREATHING
